| 04 Jun 2026 | Incident | D-ABPQ | Lufthansa | A Lufthansa Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, D-ABPQ, experienced a sudden nose gear collapse when standing at gate A15 (Terminal 1) at Frankfurt Airport (FRA/EDDF), Frankfurt, Hesse. Two cabin crew members and several other employees of service providers were injured and taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Flight DLH450 to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX/KLAX) was cancelled. There were 13 crewmembers and no passengers on board and the aircraft was taken out of service for inspection and repairs. The preliminary report states that technicians were conducting a test to resolve an issue regarding the control system for the main landing gear doors, as a part of this test the landing gear lever should be in the "UP" position. It was found during the investigation that the landing gear downlock pin for the nose landing gear was not installed and still in the storage box. | Stored | Update |
