Whilst performing flight ET-702 from Addis Ababa to Rome Fiumicino, at FL440 approx. 219nm South of Athens (Greece) the crew received multiple messages including the system failure of the left and right hand power bus control units, failure of number 1 engine, electronic control (EEC) module Channel B, right hand generator control and other minor systems. Aircraft diverted to Athens runway 21R and landed 45 Minutes later. A replacement B787-8 registration ET-ASI collected the passengers and flew them onto Rome with a total delay of 13 hours 45 minutes.
