Whilst performing flight AM-2 from Madrid to Mexico City, the aircraft was on route near the Azores when the crew decided to divert to Santa Maria due to an electrical failure. The aircraft landed safely.\r\n\r\passengers reported lights in the cabin had failed.\r\n\r\according to avhearld.com radar data suggest that the aircraft was no longer able to provide position and Mode-S data on its transponder. The last position provided by the aircraft transponder was just at FL360 at the south coast of the Pico Island , Azores\r\n\r\the passengers returned to Madrid and were booked onto the next flight AM-2 which departed on 20th March |
